1931 Gallery Bistro is located just above the lobby of the Vancouver Art Gallery at 750 Hornby Street. We have two entrances, our interior entrance by the stairs in the Gallery’s lobby or our exterior entrance located at the stairs off of Howe Street (near Robson Street).

Vancouver Art Gallery, a non-profit organization which is situated within the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations.

+ Why Are We Called 1931?

We are proudly named to honour the founding year of the Vancouver Art Gallery Association – which was established in April 1931.

+ Do You Take Reservations?

We take walk ins and reservations in advance online. While we endeavour to accommodate your regular or outdoor seating request, due to limited capacity we cannot guarantee your preference. If you are unable to book your preferred time slot, we do have tables available for walk in on a first come basis.

+ What Methods Of Payment Do You Take?

We take contactless debit and credit card payments or cash.

+ Do You Sell Gift Cards?

Yes, we have offer Gift Cards available for purchase online or in person!

+ Can I Rent Out The Space For A Private Event?

Yes our restaurant is available for private events. Please visit our Catering & Events page.

+ Can I Bring My Dog Onto The Patio?

We love dogs but unfortunately we cannot allow animals onto the restaurant premises with the exception of registered service animals.

+ Can I Bring My Own Cake?

Yes, this would be subject to a fee. Also, we do have a wonderful in-house pastry team that can accommodate any request for cakes for your special event in advance. Please email us for special requests.

+ Can I Bring My Own Wine?

Sorry, our permitting does not allow for outside alcohol. However, we do have a great wine list available with daily features.

+ What Are Your COVID-19 Safety Policies?

We are committed to ensuring the safety of our guests and staff, and request that our policies be reviewed and practiced by all our guests.

+ Do You Offer Delivery Or Take Out?

Yes we offer both! When ordering Take Out, please call 604-662-4831 and receive 10% off your purchase. Delivery can be ordered through DoorDash & Uber Eats.
